Hein Bogaard is the Lead Economic Expert in the International Risk Supervision Division at the OCC. Drawing on over 20 years of experience in both government and academia he has a leading role in policy development, economic analysis, and research on a wide range of topics, including country risk, stress testing, and bank funding. Hein represents the OCC on the Research Task Force of the Basel Committee for Banking Supervision and is the chair of the National Country Risk Management Committee.

Before joining the OCC in 2013, Hein was on the faculty at George Washington University. He started his career in the Dutch Ministry of Finance and also held positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in the World Bank.

Hein holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Michigan (2009) and a Drs. (MA) in Economics from Tilburg University (1993).
